Installation begins with a room-by-room load calculation to determine proper capacity for each zone—oversized units short-cycle and fail to dehumidify properly, while undersized units run constantly without maintaining temperature. We then run refrigerant line sets through walls or along baseboards to minimize visual impact, install the outdoor condenser on a sturdy pad or bracket with proper clearance from vegetation and structures, mount the indoor evaporator unit on a wall where it draws air efficiently, pull a dedicated electrical circuit with appropriate breaker size, and perform a complete system evacuation to remove air and moisture before charging with refrigerant. / For repairs and maintenance, we handle refrigerant leaks by locating the source with electronic leak detectors, sealing the connection, recovering the old refrigerant, and recharging the system. We service failed compressors, replace capacitors and contactors that control electrical flow, clean or replace air filters, and address drainage problems when condensate lines clog. Many mini split failures stem from improper installation—inadequate evacuation leaving moisture in the system, undersized refrigerant lines causing pressure drop, or indoor units mounted where air circulation is blocked. We also retrofit existing systems: adding zones to multi-zone outdoor units, upgrading to new refrigerant standards when older units are retired, and troubleshooting performance issues from prior installations. Bosch mini splits typically require annual service to maintain warranty coverage and peak efficiency.
